How does doing yoga make you feel?
The feeling I get after practicing yoga is almost indescribable. The best word I can find that brings to life the experience I have on my mat is “connected”. Every thing feels heightened; I’m so much more aware of my body, and in tune with my heart.
How long have you been doing yoga?
I have been practicing yoga for nearly 8 years.
Why did you start doing yoga?
I started practicing yoga because my sister dragged me along to a class. It may not be the most inspiring reason, but it’s truthful!
What is your favorite type of Yoga? Which type are you best at?
My Favorite type of yoga is Vinyasa flow to amazing music. I feel euphoric when I’m in the flow of breath and dynamic movement. I lose myself in the experience and feel so awake and energized! The postures I’m best at are the acrobatic type poses. I struggle the most with postures that require contortionist like flexibility.
What don’t you like about yoga (if anything)?
Thats a difficult one! If I had to choose an aspect of yoga I dislike or rather disagree with, I would have to say: that it can be expensive! I wish it was accessible to everyone.
What do you love about yoga?
I could honestly write a book on why I love yoga, but more so than any other reason: I cherish the clarity that comes to me after and during my practice. It allows me to address the aspects of my life that feel unresolved.
How often do you do yoga?
Do you eat before or after yoga? What do you usually eat?
My rule of thumb is to not eat at least 2 and a half hours before I practice. On the days where I need some energy I’ll have a banana before hand. I’m never really concerned with what type of food I eat after I practice however I always pay attention to the quality of what I eat. I believe food should be responsibly & ethically sourced, and most importantly nutrient dense.
